About Emma
Owner & Trainer
I am a qualified BHSAI, and have been since the late 90s. I have been involved with horses from a young age. My parents ran a riding school when I was a child right through my teenage years. I worked on the yard alongside my parents and siblings, where I did a lot of backing and producing young horses for use in the school and for competition. I went on to teach and ride on a freelance basis until I opened my own riding school. I ran this for years but the opportunity arose to have my own yard to run as a full livery yard, something I had always wanted to do, so I grabbed the chance.
This is where I am currently based as a coach and trainer/producer of youngstock and problem horses. I am also an active riding member of the British Show Jumping, British Eventing and British Dressage and compete on a regular basis. I offer several livery & lessons packages including training, competition and sales livery. I produce all of my own competition horses and ponies for my daughter, who I have taught and trained. She is now an active member of British Show Jumping, Faversham and District Riding Club, and the Pony Club, and is regularly competing at age 10 with huge success. I have experience with working with a range of problem horses, who have successfully been re-educated and returned to their owners as part of my training livery program. This is something I get enormous pleasure and satisfaction from.
I have furthered my knowledge in this field and have achieved a diploma in horse psychology. I also have diplomas in horse care and management, and anatomy and physiology. I am currently studying sports psychology, which I feel is another area close to my heart. I coach a lot of people of all ages and capabilities, it is very apparent to me how an individual’s mindset plays a huge part in what they are able to achieve. This qualification will enable me to coach my clients in a way that not only develops their skills on board the horse but helps them to maintain a positive mindset and a winning attitude when it comes to competition.
